Para melhorar a performance do jogo o que importa é a arquitetura do núcleo e a velocidade do clock, não o número de cores, nenhum game utiliza mais que 4 núcleos eficientemente, nem mesmo Battlefield 3 e a maioria dos games não utiliza mais que 2 cores.
Se você possui um processador de 64 bits, alegre-se pois há um meio de rodar o WoW nesse modo garantindo maior performance, fiz um teste rápido hoje pela manhã e verifiquei um ganho de desempenho de no mínimo 10% nas áreas mais críticas.

Para instalar basta descompactar os arquivos dentro da pasta do WoW, executar o launcher, e em opções desmarcar a opção "cliente 32 bits", e clicar em jogar. Mais ou menos assim, qualquer coisa o google ensina.
Para saber se deu certo na tela de login do jogo, na parte de baixo terá a versão do cliente onde informa que está rodando em 64bits
